The ideal rug shape

Those looking to buy a rug have a choice between a round, oval, square or rectangular rug. Rugs provide good acoustics and radiate warmth. It is also important to buy a rug that suits you. But, what is the right shape for the rug in a particular room?

Round rug

A round rug does not delineate anything. This makes it a welcome change from a carpeted or parquet floor. A round rug also fits well in an interior with lots of straight and angular shapes. The roundness of the rug gives balance to the space it is in. A round coffee table, for symmetry, or a rectangular dining table can be placed on the rug for a more playful effect.

Square rug

Rectangular rug
